Dress Code

Our Dress Code is based on the Biblical principles of modesty, neatness, and appropriateness. Modesty is mentioned often as an important character quality (1 Timothy 2:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:5, 6). Modest people do not go out of their way to bring undue attention to themselves. Likewise, neatness and appropriateness are important as we seek to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ. We need to be examples for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, in purity (1 Timothy 4:2). We also desire to give a good report and not be offensive in anything we do. This suggests living differently than the world (1 John 2:15). In addition, dress is to be distinctively masculine and feminine, reflecting a wholesome appreciation for God’s creative plan (Deuteronomy 22:5). As we determine to glorify the Lord in all we do (1 Corinthians 10:31),these qualities help us to do that in the area of dress.

It is also important to realize that Parents, as the primary educators of their children (Deuteronomy 6; Ephesians 6), play a key role in this area of Dress Code. It is incumbent upon Parents to guide and supervise their children in the selection/buying of appropriate clothing. Accordingly, this Dress Code is intended to make known in as clear a way as possible the position, guidelines, and restrictions of Revival Centre Christian Academy in the area of dress.

The RCCA bases its dress code upon two criteria: Biblical standards (I Timothy 2:9, Romans 12:1) and the desire for a neat, clean, and attractive appearance.

Dress should be distinctly masculine or feminine and learners are NOT permitted to dress like the opposite sex (Deuteronomy 22:5).

The RCCA’s dress regulations are established to teach personal grooming, hygiene, instil discipline, and present an orderly learner to the general public. The RCCA and Staff are very proud of our learners and uniform and we respect them.

Learners are expected to be neat and tidy at all times. Pride in the School uniform and personal appearance reflects an overall respect for the School and for themselves. Learners are not allowed to come to School in damaged, dirty or wrinkled School uniform and/or broken, dirty and untidy shoes.

If the Principal/Staff determines that a learner’s grooming violates the Dress Code, the learner shall be given the opportunity to correct the problem at School, and if it’s not possible, the learner could be sent home to correct the problem, at the expense of the Parent (taxi fees, etc.) or further action could be taken against the learner.
